About Us
Brainy Alley was launched in Connecticut by Kirti Vyas, an extreme mom, a
substitute teacher and a writer, currently honing her craft at the
Institute of Children’s Literature. She also writes web content and user
manuals as well as stories for her children and their friends. She
believes that creativity can be taught, and success is more than a
goal—it is an attitude.
While coaching creative programs previously, Kirti found that
many children were too busy for long-term commitments but needed a
program where they could explore creativity and extend their minds. This
formed an important guideline in designing Brainy Alley as a series of
classes, each with its own theme and set of activities. All hands-on
activities have been co-created and tested for "intelligent fun" with
her older son, Shaamil Sage Vyas, an engineering student at Clarkson
University. Counselors are trained to nurture creativity and mutual
respect among the students.
Kirti has a Master's degree in Education, and lives in Southern
Connecticut with her husband,a "go-to person" who usually has an answer
or will find one,
a younger son who asks ingenious questions, and a very talkative dog.
