About Us

Brainy Alley was launched in Connecticut by Kirti Vyas, an extreme mom, a writer, and a public school teacher. Besides challenging lesson plans, she also writes web content, user manuals as well as stories for her children and their friends. She believes that creativity can be taught, and success is more than a goal—it is an attitude.

Originally formed to offer a series of workshops for creative problem-solving, Brainy Alley evolved into writing classes, both in person and online, for children in Grades 3 - 8, and now upto Grade 10. These classes provide writing enrichment to students who excel in other areas, and are used to being challenged.  Vocabulary, spellings, grammar, text organization, and all other aspects of fine writing are encouraged and supported to students who currently reside in CT, NJ, NY, NC, TX, and OR.

Kirti is a certified K-6, and Secondary Language Arts teacher with a Master's degree in Education and a Diploma from the Institute of Children’s Literature. She lives in Southern Connecticut with her husband, a  "go-to person " who usually has an answer, or will find one, her sons - an engineering graduate, a younger son who asks ingenious questions, and Chewbacca, their "smiley" dog.
