Kirti Vyas

Kirti Vyas is a writer, a writing teacher, and an undaunted crafter – crafting with paper, fabric, metal, and stone. She lives in Connecticut with her husband and often aspires to be as wise as her two adult sons. Writing, however, has always been both her beacon and her harbor, above all.

After years of writing advertising copy in India, she transitioned to teaching writing, and since then, she has written two workbooks for her emerging writers, a compilation of her poems titled "Between Us, There is Verse" and "Somewhere in India," a collection of short stories. Keen to stretch her writing, she is now also writing songs, which are released on Spotify. She regularly uploads her poems to her YouTube channel, too: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCk53NMgakh1c4AvErhpk8yA Her goal in exploring new forms and mediums is always to surprise herself -- the best of rewards.

A certified K-6, and Secondary-School Language Arts teacher with a Master of Science degree in Education and a Diploma in Writing Children's Literature, Kirti teaches writing to motivated students. She founded Brainy Alley Writing and Critical-thinking Classes in 2007 because she believes that creativity can be taught, and success is more than a goal—it is an attitude.
